As you've probably realised, we're quickly approaching the deadline for assignments (20:00 GMT on 10 August). I don't know about you but I can't wait to see all of your delicious pining fic!

I'm also going to be amalgamating all the available pinch hits in this post, to make things a bit easier for everyone. Apologies for not keeping up with the various other posts and lists.

She's falling harder and doesn't want to mention anything in case she loses what little she has with Lucifer. Maybe it's even more confusing because Lucifer is half the time living at Chloe's house. I'd love something smutty and angsty, especially if one reason Chloe thinks this is only about sex is because Lucifer LOVES having lots of sex... only because it's the first time Lucifer has "made love" and it's blowing his mind how epic it is with feelings involved. There's lots of sex but it's intimate, vanilla, at times shy. Maybe she wants to invent wingfic kinks and Lucifer is shy about them appearing in the bedroom spontaneously. It's opening Lucifer's mind about what love means, but Chloe knows him as this kinky motherfucker and is thus confused and there's subsequent pining.

For "Realisation that A is available triggers realisation of feelings", Jon is Character A and Tormund is Character B. For all others, Tormund is Character A and Jon is Character B.
So I never considered these two before their "goodbye" hug at Winterfell and Jon not petting Ghost, and after the finale I am SOLD. Hook, line, and sinker. I want anything with them post-canon beyond the Wall, pining and trying to find a rhythm now that they don't have to survive any threats anymore. I love how they gradually evolved from cautious allies to sworn enemies to genuine allies to finally best friends through thick and thin. I'd love that gradual evolution from best friends to lovers and life partners. Since Jon has pretty much always been a relationship for as long as Tormund's known him, I'd love if that factors into why Tormund is pining. He's never been on Jon's radar before, so why should that change now, right? Also, since Jon is seen by some wildlings as a god for not dying and most certainly a war hero, he probably won't have to try hard to find someone new romantically speaking. Plus, he is reconciling grief and trauma from Daenerys dying, so a relationship is definitely not something Jon needs right now. Tormund should give him space!
I really love the Canadian Shack trope. Ghost, wilderness, nature calling their name, and pining. I'd also like if Jon tells Tormund about his true parentage and there's no drama around it. Tormund listens, Jon gets to feel however he wants about it, and Tormund respects his wishes.

Ignoring the finale entirely, I'd love a fix-it fic where Eliot has been freed from the monster. Quentin is still emotionally a wreck making bad decisions (further complicated by getting back together with Alice), and Eliot is beyond heartbroken. He is 100% convinced that he fucked up all chances with Quentin after denying him a relationship after the time loop life partnership, and on top of that, he has to witness Quentin and Alice together again. But little does he know that Quentin is sad and feeling trapped because he messed up with Alice, is still madly in love with Eliot, and can't emotionally handle anything right now. But they need each other so much, like they're starving for breath. I'd like if Quentin's depression and Eliot having trust issues or feeling like it's impossible for him to attain happiness romantically, that these attribute play a part in them not acting on their feelings.

I kinda headcanon as Jon suffering from depression, so I'd love if there is a dynamic where Jon feels uplifted and happier around Tormund because Tormund's humor and love for being alive inspires Jon, but the depression makes Jon doubt everything about them and feel worthless. Or he thinks that Tormund is just being a good friend and helping a pal out. It's only wishful thinking to assume otherwise. He's also gone through a bunch of stuff this season that could make him feel unworthy of good things. Plus, maybe he doesn't pick up on cultural differences, so for the wildlings, it's obvious that Tormund has feelings for Jon, but it soars clear over Jon's head.

Summary
Juudai is quite possibly my favorite shounen protagonist of all time. I love his optimistic, genki, hot-blooded gung-ho attitude at the beginning of the series; I love his descent into darkness; I love the character growth and development he exhibits and how, by the end of the series, he's matured and been jaded and lost some of his blind idealism, but is ultimately still a good person who still believes in goodness. I also adore Johan, for a lot of the same reasons that I love Juudai. He's positive, bright, brave, determined and true. And I love how he and Juudai are kindred spirits--they hit it off from the first moment they meet, like they were destined to become friends.
I ship them like whoa, but ultimately, what I really love about them is how they're friends who go above and beyond the call of duty for each other. I love that Juudai and Johan put themselves on the line for each other, that their faith in each other is unshakeable, and how they went through terrible things with each other, and for each other. How could you not fall in love, at least a little bit?
I would also love pining on either or both of their parts. Are they kind of dumb and oblivious about their own feelings at first? Pining while they're just hanging out, having a casual duel and it hurts so much to see the way he smiles when he plays his favorite card. Or their first reunion post-canon, and suddenly it really hits home that oh, this is love. Or what it's like when they first meet each other and realize that hey, there's someone else who understands them, instant crush that immediately results in insta-pining because dude, don't screw up this great new friendship. Or pining during the mess that is Season 3, when one or the other of them is missing/possessed/assumed to be dead! Or, while Juudai is off roaming the earth, what it's like to maintain a long-distance friendship (while never ever revealing that there's pining happening, never). All the pining, all the time. I'm happy with any kind of ending here.

Summary
I'm a sucker for characters who are instantly great friends, so I was charmed by Bruno and Yuusei's relationship from the very beginning. I love that Yuusei and the gang basically take Bruno in and accept him as one of their own, and that Bruno slides into Team 5D's so seamlessly. I love that even after the Antimony reveal, Yuusei refuses to believe that their friendship was a lie; I love that his faith was rewarded in Bruno's final moments. And that tragic ending hurts soooo good.
I'm game for any time period, from amnesiac Bruno era to post-canon mourning on Yuusei's part. I'm not interested in fix-it fic where Bruno survives, but I would be interested in seeing angst about what could have been, in another world/another lifetime, but wasn't. Or little moments that are precious in retrospect.
As you can tell, I love the tragedy of their relationship. I don't really want a happy ending here. On Yuusei's side, I'd like him pining post-Antimony, whether it's while Bruno is on the opposite side or after Bruno's death. Does Yuusei try to stoic his way through it? How does he mourn? Does he eventually come to terms with Bruno's death, or does he suffer forever? Feel free to go as tragic as you'd like. On Bruno's side, this could be when he's just Bruno, pining for his new friend but unwilling to say anything about it because he doesn't want to ruin this amazing shiny new friendship. Or it could be during the Antimony period, after Bruno regains his memories, and he's desperately in love but he can't do anything about it because he knows he has a role to play, and he'll go to his death pining. Deathbed (deathbike?) confessions are completely acceptable, on either side. I'm not too picky about whether it's one or both of them pining, as long as it doesn't end happily.
For the time loop, I'd be happy to see this from either character's POV; either Yuusei looping to try to save Bruno (and consistently failing) or Bruno looping to try to save Yuusei (and discovering that he only succeeds by sacrificing himself).

I confess to having a distinct bias for Killua. He's my absolute favorite; I fell in love with him almost from the moment he first appeared, and I adore him more with each scene he appears him. I love how he's kind of definitely screwed up, and how he's aware of it in some ways and scarily unaware of it in others. I love how desperately he loves Gon (whatever kind of love you want to interpret it as). As for Gon, I love how he's kind of an idiot, but also well-meaning and optimistic and loyal to a T. I was immediately charmed by how Gon accepts Killua wholeheartedly and basically instantly decides that they're best friends. I have also developed a near-Pavlovian reaction of flailing and squeeing every time Killua says or thinks, "I will protect Gon!" I am a simple person with simple needs okay
I ship Gon/Killua like whoa, but to be honest, I'm even more into Killua→Gon. Like I said, I am a simple person with simple needs, and those needs are "Killua pining over Gon." Preferably with Gon absolutely oblivious, preferably with Killua saying absolutely nothing about it because Gon is his best friend okay
I'd love to read any situation in which Killua feels his heart breaking a little bit (or a lot bit) because of Gon, whether it's a laid-back afternoon spent exploring together, or pining during their separation, or that time when it was Gon vs. the rest of the Zoldycks. Does Killua even recognize his feelings for what they are? Does anyone else realize? Killua pining while Gon is halfway across the world! Killua pining while Gon is right next to him! Killua deciding to go off with Alluka is actually like 50% him running away from his feelings for Gon! Any variation of Killua pining over Gon and missing him or wanting to be with him but also never ever ever saying anything, that's all I want.

Summary
Animamundi was the first visual novel I ever played, and it left a huge impression on me. I love the over-the-top gothic feel, the drama and angst, and the great variety of bad and bittersweet endings. What can I say, I dig how dark and twisted it is. Bonus points for the way the game just wholesale screws with Christianity.
Dashwood is probably my favorite character of the lot. I like how his brash, irreverent persona hides an actually good, vulnerable soul with a backstory that consists almost entirely of sadness. I like how he feels trapped in the life he lives, and that he's willing to risk himself for Georik's sake. I live for the way he calls Georik "master" just because. I kind of love how Georik starts out having absolutely zero patience for Dashwood's behavior, but gradually comes to appreciate and understand him. And yes, I do love that they have no happy ending, just different flavors of tragedy.
Honestly, I'd be happy to receive almost anything about these two. As long as you give me all the pining Dashwood, I will be happy. Dashwood being suggestive and teasing and Georik being standoffish and having none of it! Dashwood hurt/sick/dying and confessing! Dashwood hurt/sick/dying and wistfully pining but deliberately not confessing! Dashwood unable to stop pining but having absolutely zero expectations of Georik returning his feelings! I'd love to see Dashwood interacting with Lillith, Dashwood would be charming and Georik would be furious. Alternatively, I'd be interested to see Dashwood POV of some of the stuff Georik gets involved in in other routes (Dashwood becomes aware of the whole Lucifer thing? Dashwood spots Whistler the Ripper?)--it could be fun to see Dashwood pining from the distance and wishing he could do something to help as Georik gets mixed up in some terrible stuff in the other routes.

Summary
I have an enormous fondness for Hanakisou. I love how the entire crapsack world is built on choices between bad and worse--the world is essentially created to self-destruct, but the built-in escape hatch is horrific, and love and death are intrinsically intertwined. But I also love how, despite so much of story being founded on tragedy and pessimism and despair, the characters nevertheless strive to cling to some sort of hope or love or struggle for something better, even if they can't attain it without hurting someone. There are so many ways that things can go wrong, and yet also a few ways--a few--that things might go at least halfway right. I also love how twisty and conflicted all of the relationships are. What does it say about you when the greatest way to prove how much you care about someone is to deny their wishes and sentence the world to destruction?
I love Kuroto and Hanashiro together (...or apart) and I can read about them all day long. My heart just goes out to Kuroto. His life is (all his lives are) a series of traumas and tragedies. I'm drawn most to his inherent goodness despite his equally inherent nature as the harbinger of destruction. The angst and whump he suffers as a result of this is excellent, A+, would like more of that please. I love how absolutely terrifying Hanashiro is. He may look sweet and innocent, but he can be absolutely ruthless, and I love how he's only too willing to destroy the world in cold blood. At the same time, he's also incredibly sensitive; the idea of not saving Kuroto is almost too much for him to bear. I also find it fascinating how he learned to care about Kuroto in spite of--or perhaps because of?--his upbringing and training as the Savior. And their relationship is just so fascinating to me--they legitimately care about each other, but their relationship is basically built on a string of deceptions, traumas, and death. There's basically no way for them to help each other without hurting each other, and I find that so utterly delicious.
There's a lot of potential here for pining that has a horribly unhappy ending with one of them dying. Kuroto pining while Hanashiro freezes to death in his arms! Hanashiro pining under a mountain of guilt because he killed Kuroto! Alternatively, for slightly less depressing pining, I could 100% go for Hanashiro pining while Kuroto has lost his memories. Although Hanashiro would probably feel kind of stupid for pining, because isn't it better if Kuroto doesn't know the truth, and they can have this little moment of happiness together? (But it's still not the same.) If we want a full-blown happy ending, I'd also love to see both of them pining while stuck in the tower but not doing anything about it because what's the point, there's no happy ending for them... and then they do get their happy ending, and they realize that they can have some sort of future together.

Summary
KKM is an old favorite of mine, and I absolutely adore Conrad. I have a soft spot for characters like him--he's a genuinely good guy, protective and loyal to the very end, but also he's kind of messed up, and don't screw with him, he will end you if you do anything to Yuuri. Yuuri is just such an awkward, adorkable beam of sunlight who makes things harder for everyone by clinging to his own sense of justice and right and wrong, and I love how Conrad is helpless to resist any of it.
I want Conrad pining while saying absolutely nothing about it to Yuuri. It wouldn't be appropriate! Yuuri is his king! Yuuri is engaged! The whole Julia thing! It would only make things complicated and difficult for Yuuri, and he doesn't want to make Yuuri feel bad or guilty or obliged! He should be grateful for relationship he does have with Yuuri! So instead Conrad pines in silence. Pining during the betrayal arc would be absolutely delicious, especially if it comes with an extra-big helping of self-recrimination. Oh, man, especially immediately after his return, that would be especially painful because Yuuri's unwavering belief in him is a kind of love, just... not the same. Or, for something a bit more domestic, pining while playing baseball, or teaching Yuuri how to use a sword, or while eating dinner. Or Conrad pining while Yuuri has gone back to Earth for a while, and he doesn't know if it hurts more when Yuuri is in another world or when Yuuri is within arm's reach. Maybe someone else figures out --Murata and Yozak would be the obvious choices. Any time, any place, as long as Conrad is painfully, achingly in love and is trying desperately not to let Yuuri know.

Summary
Gokudera is my favorite character, hands down. I love his brash nature, his intelligence, and above all, his dedication and loyalty to Tsuna. I also have a great appreciation for Gokudera's bombs and other explosives. As for Tsuna, I like that he sometimes is at a loss for how to deal with Gokudera's intensity, but always believes in him and values their friendship. I really dig the gap between Tsuna thinking of them as friends and Gokudera thinking of them as boss/right-hand man, and I love how Gokudera comes to realize that Tsuna can be his boss and his friend at the same time. I love seeing Gokudera trying incredibly hard to be a good right-hand man while Tsuna simultaneously appreciates it, finds it super awkward, and wants to be Gokudera's friend. I also like how both of them can kind of be failboats sometimes.
For the pining, I want ALL the Gokudera→Tsuna pining. All of it. Pining and in denial about it! Long-suffering pining! Pining that everyone except Tsuna knows about! Pining that Gokudera refuses to admit because he isn’t good enough for the Tenth! Pining that has him totally torn up inside! Pining that he’s learned to quietly accept and embrace! Pining as he tries to protect Tsuna in a fight! All the pining, all the time. Gokudera being hopelessly in unrequited love is all I want. I’d also love an outsider POV of this—I think Yamamoto, Kyouko, Reborn, or Bianchi could be particularly interesting, but I’d be happy to see this from anyone’s POV--especially if Gokudera himself doesn't realize that he's so loyal to and protective of Tsuna because he's in love, but the POV character can see it. Oh, man, Gokudera suddenly realizing five or ten years down the line that he's been in love this entire time! Honestly, I'm not picky. I just want me some delicious Gokudera pining.
I do not want Tsuna to return Gokudera's feelings. To be honest, I don't really even want Tsuna to learn about Gokudera's feelings. I'm okay with mentions of Tsuna→Kyouko (especially if it's a source of angst for Gokudera), but I'd rather not have mutual Tsuna/Kyouko.

So I never considered these two before their "goodbye" hug at Winterfell and Jon not petting Ghost, and after the finale I am SOLD. Hook, line, and sinker. I want anything with them post-canon beyond the Wall, pining and trying to find a rhythm now that they don't have to survive any threats anymore. I love how they gradually evolved from cautious allies to sworn enemies to genuine allies to finally best friends through thick and thin. I'd love that gradual evolution from best friends to lovers and life partners. Since Jon has pretty much always been a relationship for as long as Tormund's known him, I'd love if that factors into why Tormund is pining. He's never been on Jon's radar before, so why should that change now, right? Also, since Jon is seen by some wildlings as a god for not dying and most certainly a war hero, he probably won't have to try hard to find someone new romantically speaking. Plus, he is reconciling grief and trauma from Daenerys dying, so a relationship is definitely not something Jon needs right now. Tormund should give him space!
I really love the Canadian Shack trope. Ghost, wilderness, nature calling their name, and pining. I'd also like if Jon tells Tormund about his true parentage and there's no drama around it. Tormund listens, Jon gets to feel however he wants about it, and Tormund respects his wishes.

So I never considered these two before their "goodbye" hug at Winterfell and Jon not petting Ghost, and after the finale I am SOLD. Hook, line, and sinker. I want anything with them post-canon beyond the Wall, pining and trying to find a rhythm now that they don't have to survive any threats anymore. I love how they gradually evolved from cautious allies to sworn enemies to genuine allies to finally best friends through thick and thin. I'd love that gradual evolution from best friends to lovers and life partners. I kinda headcanon as Jon suffering from depression, so I'd love if there is a dynamic where Jon feels uplifted and happier around Tormund because Tormund's humor and love for being alive inspires Jon, but the depression makes Jon doubt everything about them and feel worthless. Or he thinks that Tormund is just being a good friend and helping a pal out. It's only wishful thinking to assume otherwise. He's also gone through a bunch of stuff this season that could make him feel unworthy of good things. Plus, maybe he doesn't pick up on cultural differences, so for the wildlings, it's obvious that Tormund has feelings for Jon, but it soars clear over Jon's head.
I really love the Canadian Shack trope. Ghost, wilderness, nature calling their name, and pining. I'd also like if Jon tells Tormund about his true parentage and there's no drama around it. Tormund listens, Jon gets to feel however he wants about it and Tormund respects his wishes.

Summary
Juudai is quite possibly my favorite shounen protagonist of all time. I love his optimistic, genki, hot-blooded gung-ho attitude at the beginning of the series; I love his descent into darkness; I love the character growth and development he exhibits and how, by the end of the series, he's matured and been jaded and lost some of his blind idealism, but is ultimately still a good person who still believes in goodness. I also adore Johan, for a lot of the same reasons that I love Juudai. He's positive, bright, brave, determined and true. And I love how he and Juudai are kindred spirits--they hit it off from the first moment they meet, like they were destined to become friends.
I ship them like whoa, but ultimately, what I really love about them is how they're friends who go above and beyond the call of duty for each other. I love that Juudai and Johan put themselves on the line for each other, that their faith in each other is unshakeable, and how they went through terrible things with each other, and for each other. How could you not fall in love, at least a little bit?
I would also love pining on either or both of their parts. Are they kind of dumb and oblivious about their own feelings at first? Pining while they're just hanging out, having a casual duel and it hurts so much to see the way he smiles when he plays his favorite card. Or their first reunion post-canon, and suddenly it really hits home that oh, this is love. Or what it's like when they first meet each other and realize that hey, there's someone else who understands them, instant crush that immediately results in insta-pining because dude, don't screw up this great new friendship. Or pining during the mess that is Season 3, when one or the other of them is missing/possessed/assumed to be dead! Or, while Juudai is off roaming the earth, what it's like to maintain a long-distance friendship (while never ever revealing that there's pining happening, never). All the pining, all the time. I'm happy with any kind of ending here.

Summary
I'm a sucker for characters who are instantly great friends, so I was charmed by Bruno and Yuusei's relationship from the very beginning. I love that Yuusei and the gang basically take Bruno in and accept him as one of their own, and that Bruno slides into Team 5D's so seamlessly. I love that even after the Antimony reveal, Yuusei refuses to believe that their friendship was a lie; I love that his faith was rewarded in Bruno's final moments. And that tragic ending hurts soooo good.
I'm game for any time period, from amnesiac Bruno era to post-canon mourning on Yuusei's part. I'm not interested in fix-it fic where Bruno survives, but I would be interested in seeing angst about what could have been, in another world/another lifetime, but wasn't. Or little moments that are precious in retrospect.
As you can tell, I love the tragedy of their relationship. I don't really want a happy ending here. On Yuusei's side, I'd like him pining post-Antimony, whether it's while Bruno is on the opposite side or after Bruno's death. Does Yuusei try to stoic his way through it? How does he mourn? Does he eventually come to terms with Bruno's death, or does he suffer forever? Feel free to go as tragic as you'd like. On Bruno's side, this could be when he's just Bruno, pining for his new friend but unwilling to say anything about it because he doesn't want to ruin this amazing shiny new friendship. Or it could be during the Antimony period, after Bruno regains his memories, and he's desperately in love but he can't do anything about it because he knows he has a role to play, and he'll go to his death pining. Deathbed (deathbike?) confessions are completely acceptable, on either side. I'm not too picky about whether it's one or both of them pining, as long as it doesn't end happily.
For the time loop, I'd be happy to see this from either character's POV; either Yuusei looping to try to save Bruno (and consistently failing) or Bruno looping to try to save Yuusei (and discovering that he only succeeds by sacrificing himself).

I confess to having a distinct bias for Killua. He's my absolute favorite; I fell in love with him almost from the moment he first appeared, and I adore him more with each scene he appears him. I love how he's kind of definitely screwed up, and how he's aware of it in some ways and scarily unaware of it in others. I love how desperately he loves Gon (whatever kind of love you want to interpret it as). As for Gon, I love how he's kind of an idiot, but also well-meaning and optimistic and loyal to a T. I was immediately charmed by how Gon accepts Killua wholeheartedly and basically instantly decides that they're best friends. I have also developed a near-Pavlovian reaction of flailing and squeeing every time Killua says or thinks, "I will protect Gon!" I am a simple person with simple needs okay
I ship Gon/Killua like whoa, but to be honest, I'm even more into Killua→Gon. Like I said, I am a simple person with simple needs, and those needs are "Killua pining over Gon." Preferably with Gon absolutely oblivious, preferably with Killua saying absolutely nothing about it because Gon is his best friend okay
I'd love to read any situation in which Killua feels his heart breaking a little bit (or a lot bit) because of Gon, whether it's a laid-back afternoon spent exploring together, or pining during their separation, or that time when it was Gon vs. the rest of the Zoldycks. Does Killua even recognize his feelings for what they are? Does anyone else realize? Killua pining while Gon is halfway across the world! Killua pining while Gon is right next to him! Killua deciding to go off with Alluka is actually like 50% him running away from his feelings for Gon! Summary
Animamundi was the first visual novel I ever played, and it left a huge impression on me. I love the over-the-top gothic feel, the drama and angst, and the great variety of bad and bittersweet endings. What can I say, I dig how dark and twisted it is. Bonus points for the way the game just wholesale screws with Christianity.
Dashwood is probably my favorite character of the lot. I like how his brash, irreverent persona hides an actually good, vulnerable soul with a backstory that consists almost entirely of sadness. I like how he feels trapped in the life he lives, and that he's willing to risk himself for Georik's sake. I live for the way he calls Georik "master" just because. I kind of love how Georik starts out having absolutely zero patience for Dashwood's behavior, but gradually comes to appreciate and understand him. And yes, I do love that they have no happy ending, just different flavors of tragedy.
Honestly, I'd be happy to receive almost anything about these two. As long as you give me all the pining Dashwood, I will be happy. Dashwood being suggestive and teasing and Georik being standoffish and having none of it! Dashwood hurt/sick/dying and confessing! Dashwood hurt/sick/dying and wistfully pining but deliberately not confessing! Dashwood unable to stop pining but having absolutely zero expectations of Georik returning his feelings! I'd love to see Dashwood interacting with Lillith, Dashwood would be charming and Georik would be furious. Alternatively, I'd be interested to see Dashwood POV of some of the stuff Georik gets involved in in other routes (Dashwood becomes aware of the whole Lucifer thing? Dashwood spots Whistler the Ripper?)--it could be fun to see Dashwood pining from the distance and wishing he could do something to help as Georik gets mixed up in some terrible stuff in the other routes.

Summary
I have an enormous fondness for Hanakisou. I love how the entire crapsack world is built on choices between bad and worse--the world is essentially created to self-destruct, but the built-in escape hatch is horrific, and love and death are intrinsically intertwined. But I also love how, despite so much of story being founded on tragedy and pessimism and despair, the characters nevertheless strive to cling to some sort of hope or love or struggle for something better, even if they can't attain it without hurting someone. There are so many ways that things can go wrong, and yet also a few ways--a few--that things might go at least halfway right. I also love how twisty and conflicted all of the relationships are. What does it say about you when the greatest way to prove how much you care about someone is to deny their wishes and sentence the world to destruction?
I love Kuroto and Hanashiro together (...or apart) and I can read about them all day long. My heart just goes out to Kuroto. His life is (all his lives are) a series of traumas and tragedies. I'm drawn most to his inherent goodness despite his equally inherent nature as the harbinger of destruction. The angst and whump he suffers as a result of this is excellent, A+, would like more of that please. I love how absolutely terrifying Hanashiro is. He may look sweet and innocent, but he can be absolutely ruthless, and I love how he's only too willing to destroy the world in cold blood. At the same time, he's also incredibly sensitive; the idea of not saving Kuroto is almost too much for him to bear. I also find it fascinating how he learned to care about Kuroto in spite of--or perhaps because of?--his upbringing and training as the Savior. And their relationship is just so fascinating to me--they legitimately care about each other, but their relationship is basically built on a string of deceptions, traumas, and death. There's basically no way for them to help each other without hurting each other, and I find that so utterly delicious.
There's a lot of potential here for pining that has a horribly unhappy ending with one of them dying. Kuroto pining while Hanashiro freezes to death in his arms! Hanashiro pining under a mountain of guilt because he killed Kuroto! Alternatively, for slightly less depressing pining, I could 100% go for Hanashiro pining while Kuroto has lost his memories. Although Hanashiro would probably feel kind of stupid for pining, because isn't it better if Kuroto doesn't know the truth, and they can have this little moment of happiness together? (But it's still not the same.) If we want a full-blown happy ending, I'd also love to see both of them pining while stuck in the tower but not doing anything about it because what's the point, there's no happy ending for them... and then they do get their happy ending, and they realize that they can have some sort of future together.

KKM is an old favorite of mine, and I absolutely adore Conrad. I have a soft spot for characters like him--he's a genuinely good guy, protective and loyal to the very end, but also he's kind of messed up, and don't screw with him, he will end you if you do anything to Yuuri. Yuuri is just such an awkward, adorkable beam of sunlight who makes things harder for everyone by clinging to his own sense of justice and right and wrong, and I love how Conrad is helpless to resist any of it.
I want Conrad pining while saying absolutely nothing about it to Yuuri. It wouldn't be appropriate! Yuuri is his king! Yuuri is engaged! The whole Julia thing! It would only make things complicated and difficult for Yuuri, and he doesn't want to make Yuuri feel bad or guilty or obliged! He should be grateful for relationship he does have with Yuuri! So instead Conrad pines in silence. Pining during the betrayal arc would be absolutely delicious, especially if it comes with an extra-big helping of self-recrimination. Oh, man, especially immediately after his return, that would be especially painful because Yuuri's unwavering belief in him is a kind of love, just... not the same. Or, for something a bit more domestic, pining while playing baseball, or teaching Yuuri how to use a sword, or while eating dinner. Summary
Gokudera is my favorite character, hands down. I love his brash nature, his intelligence, and above all, his dedication and loyalty to Tsuna. I also have a great appreciation for Gokudera's bombs and other explosives. As for Tsuna, I like that he sometimes is at a loss for how to deal with Gokudera's intensity, but always believes in him and values their friendship. I really dig the gap between Tsuna thinking of them as friends and Gokudera thinking of them as boss/right-hand man, and I love how Gokudera comes to realize that Tsuna can be his boss and his friend at the same time. I love seeing Gokudera trying incredibly hard to be a good right-hand man while Tsuna simultaneously appreciates it, finds it super awkward, and wants to be Gokudera's friend. I also like how both of them can kind of be failboats sometimes.
For the pining, I want ALL the Gokudera→Tsuna pining. All of it. Pining and in denial about it! Long-suffering pining! Pining that everyone except Tsuna knows about! Pining that Gokudera refuses to admit because he isn’t good enough for the Tenth! Pining that has him totally torn up inside! Pining that he’s learned to quietly accept and embrace! Pining as he tries to protect Tsuna in a fight! All the pining, all the time. Gokudera being hopelessly in unrequited love is all I want. I’d also love an outsider POV of this—I think Yamamoto, Kyouko, Reborn, or Bianchi could be particularly interesting, but I’d be happy to see this from anyone’s POV--especially if Gokudera himself doesn't realize that he's so loyal to and protective of Tsuna because he's in love, but the POV character can see it. Oh, man, Gokudera suddenly realizing five or ten years down the line that he's been in love this entire time! Honestly, I'm not picky. I just want me some delicious Gokudera pining.
I do not want Tsuna to return Gokudera's feelings. To be honest, I don't really even want Tsuna to learn about Gokudera's feelings. I'm okay with mentions of Tsuna→Kyouko (especially if it's a source of angst for Gokudera), but I'd rather not have mutual Tsuna/Kyouko.
